Happy New Year. I am so ready for 2020, are you? For the past four years I have been curating clean-up plans for all of you. Due to life happening the past month and, to be honest, during the last year, I have not been able to produce the level of plan that I typically like to share. That being said, I have four years of plans readily available for your cooking pleasure (not to mention a website full of simple, whole food, plant-forward recipes.) There are over 80 original recipes for you to choose from in the clean-up plan tab that take you from breakfast, lunch, and dinner to snacks and desserts. My clean-up plans are not about detoxing, diets, or restrictions, but about gently encouraging you to get back into your cooking routine and focus on real whole foods that make you feel your best.

If you are new here, I always like to state that I don’t believe in detox’s or cleanses, but do appreciate a few days of strict, regimented eating of REAL WHOLE FOODS. The last two months of the year feature lots of opportunities to indulge and to overdo it. People are inundated by holiday parties, family celebrations, and any excuse for sweets and drinks. Come January 1st, most people crave a fresh start. Enter the crunchy radish clean up. This year’s clean up plan is 3 days, but feel free to reference the past 3 years of plans listed below if you want to continue for longer.

Happy New Year Vegheads! Today starts my annual crunchy radish clean up. Every year I like to provide readers with 5 days of clean eats to help reset the system after the holiday season. My clean ups are not reliant on juice cleanses, detoxing, or sustaining yourself on processed protein powders. Instead, the focus is on EATING real whole foods.
There is always such a positive momentum generated by healthy eating on January 1st, but how do you sustain that enthusiasm past the first month of the year and continue eating and living well into February and beyond? To help you get the year started on a positive and properly nourished note, I will be kicking off my mostly plant-based, carefully curated meal plan full of REAL food to get you reset for 2018.

Soup is all I want to eat when it is THIS cold. Not the thin, light, and airy kind, but the hearty, rich, and deeply nourishing variety which warms and soothes every part of you. This soup will satisfy your need for comfort in a bowl that we all crave in winter. Not only is this soup delicious, but it is also loaded with immune boosting properties from turmeric, cumin, and carrots which give your body that extra nudge of defense. Chickpeas add protein and texture and create a meal that wraps your belly in a blanket of wellness and warmth.
