A few weeks back, a good friend and I went to the flower market in New York City. We bundled up and charged full-force into the bustling market hoping to snag a few branches and some assorted floral varietals. I have always been a sucker for ranunculus - their delicate beauty, whimsy, and romantic qualities hold a permanent foothold in my heart. We secured a few cherry blossom branches, perfect for a tall vase, burnt orange ranunculus, and white Sweet William and rushed home to work some magic. My buddy and I created one dramatic arrangement which I slowly repurposed throughout the week to accommodate a few fallen soldiers and to bring new life to different rooms.
Working from home, I often find comfort in organized, bright, and cheery spaces. The addition of simple yet eye-popping flowers and branches literally had me smiling every time I saw them. Uncomplicated but true, flowers have the ability to make you happy and automatically elevate your space. Be it a sole stem at your desk, a giant bunch of branches on your dining room table, or an arrangement of your favorite blooms, flowers have the transcendental power to lift your mood and put a lasting smile on your face.
